Pittsburgh Signs DT Daniel Ekuale
NEWS/STORIES

Pittsburgh is adding 6’3”, 310 pound defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale. Ekuale spent five seasons with the Washington State Cougars, redshirting his true freshman season. He finished his college career with 51 appearances and 22 starts where he recorded 71 tackles, 14 TFLs, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Ekuale, now 31, signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He saw his first NFL action when he appeared in seven games for the Browns during the 2019 season. Ekuale has spent the past four seasons with the Patriots. This past season he started sixteen games for the Patriots recording one sack, three QB hits, and 52 tackles.
With the loss of Larry Ogunjobi, Ekuale will be a welcomed addition. Pittsburgh will likely still look to add to the defensive line through the draft. Regardless, Ekuale adds solid depth and run-stopping ability to Pittsburgh’s defensive line.
