Four Free Agents Pittsburgh Could Add Who AREN'T a Quarterback

Pittsburgh has made some significant moves to bolster their roster adding names such as DK Metcalf, Darius Slay Jr., Malik Harrison, Kenneth Gainwell, and Brandin Echols. However, they could still benefit from a few more additions. Despite Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson being plausible options, I will be avoiding quarterbacks in this discussion.
1. CB Mike Hilton
Mike Hilton is a name that's familiar to many Steelers fans. Mike Hilton spent 2016-2020 with the Steelers, carving out a role as the team's slot corner. His play earned him a four-year $24 million deal with division rival Cincinnati. Hilton, now 31, could still be a significant contributor and help to solidify the secondary.
2. G Trystan Colon
With the departures of Dan Moore Jr. and James Daniels in Free agency, the Steelers could use some insurance on the offensive line. Mason McCormick is set to take the starting job at right guard, but Colon could provide a solid option. Colon, 26, is a versatile player who took snaps at both guard positions and center last season. Colon appeared in all seventeen games for Arizona last season, making 7 starts. He was flagged for only one penalty and allowed zero sacks on his 386 offensive snaps in 2024.
3. WR Tyler Boyd
A Pittsburgh native, Boyd played for the Pitt Panthers before being drafted by Cincinnati where he spent his first eight seasons. Boyd, 30, will be heading into his 10th NFL season after a one year stint with the Tennessee Titans. The Steelers addressed many of the concerns with the receiver room by trading for DK Metcalf but could still benefit from a few more additions. Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan may look to day two or three of the draft rather than adding a veteran in free agency.
4. DL Morgan Fox
With the departure of Larry Ogunjobi, the Steelers have a need a need at defensive line. Fox, 30, appeared in all 17 games for the Chargers last year. Fox registered 3.5 sacks and 6 QB hits last season. This is another position I anticipate the Steelers will target in the draft, but regardless, Fox could still be a strong signing.
